It is 2039. Fish are a rarity, almost extinct. Rainfall is incessant. The planet has been ravaged by generations of abuse. The scars left by our ancestors are deep, marking the environment and humanity itself.

Written by Andrew Bovell (who also wrote the novel and screenplay to Lantana), When the Rain Stops Falling is set between 1950s England and 2039 Australia. Crossing continents and spanning four generations of one family, the play delves into the past and reaches into the future, bringing to light the enduring impact of collective and individual actions.

Featuring talented local actors and the production supported by students at the School of Visual and Performing Arts, UTas, Launceston, When the Rain Stops Falling will delight you as well as urge you to reflect.
Everyone with a soul should see it.
